4.8. Adaption resp. adjustment of the pedals to the pilot

4.8.1. Brake pedal
The brake pedal can be adapted to the drivers needs
regarding position and brake force:
Attention: The brake pedal has to be secured, in
addition to the standard connection to
the main brake cylinder, with a cable
(pos.1) and a cable clamp (pos.2).
Attention: Be aware that, if the securing cable is
fixed too tight, the brake force
adjustment (see chapter 2.7) may get
difficult or even impossible.
A) Responding behaviour
The brake behaviour can be modified by
changing position of the brake rod using one of
the four holes (pos 1) on the brake pedal bracket
If the lower holes are used, the brake force is
increased and the brake pedal travel is longer.
B) Ergonomy of the driver
The position of the brake pedal can be adjusted by adjustment of the rod end on the brake rod.
The stop (3) – which is to prevent damage to the brake system in case of a crash – has to be
adjusted according to the position of the brake pedal.
Note:
It is absolutely necessary to keep a minimum clearance of 1,0 mm / 0,04 in between
pedal and pedal stop (Pos.3), otherwise the brake balance adjustment may become
difficult to adjust. After adjustment of the brake pedal position make sure that the
lock nut on the ball joint on the rod end is sufficiently tightened
After adjustment make sure that the lock nut on the ball joint is properly tightened.
Attention: In the hole (pos.2) of the brake rod the thread of the ball joint must be visible. Only
in this case is the screw-in depth sufficient. Otherwise the brake rod end may fail.
Attention: Check brake pedal for easy movement before every drive.
