Attention: Do not warm up the engine whilst the vehicle is still on the trolley. As no load is
occuring from the engine, the fuel/air mixture flowing in cools the engine, thus it will
not reach its operating temperature. Also the engine may overrev, with consequent
engine damage.
Operate the vehicle driving on the racing circuit for 15 minutes with constantly alternating
load and r.p.m. up to an engine speed of 7.500 r.p.m.
Then operate the vehicle driving on the racing circuit for 15 minutes with constantly
alternating load and r.p.m. up to an engine speed of 9.500 r.p.m.
Vary the r.p.m. as follows:
Press the throttle pedal down until the engine has reached the above mentioned r.p.m., then
release the throttle pedal until the engine speed has dropped to 5.000 r.p.m., then press the
throttle pedal again fully down.
Attention: Prolonged operation (more than 5 seconds) both at high or low r.p.m. makes the
temperatures in the engine rise which may cause engine damage in the critical
running-in phase. Therefore vary the engine r.p.m. to avoid overheating.
Note:
In principle the running-in procedure is finished only after the initial 5 hours. During
this period the carburettor jetting should be rather on the richer side (bigger main jet)
after the running-in phase the full engine potential can be used.
After the running-in phase the full engine potential can be used.
Note:
New or renewed brake pads need to be run in .to avoid glazing and embrittlement of
the brake pad material. Use the brake during the break-in periode (the first 30
minutes) moderately. Avoid short and hard braking from high speeds.

3.3. Stopping of the engine

Set the switch to "OFF" position. This interrupts the ignition circuit and the engine stops.
Note:
This switch is also the emergency stop switch in case the engine must be stopped
(e.g. if the carburetor slide remains stuck at full throttle).
Attention: When stopping the engine take care that the engine is not set unintentionally
to START position. This would cause damage to the electric starter.
Note:
The electric circuit for the ignition unit should be closed by setting the switch to „ON"
position only when operating the engine. When the engine is at standstill and the
switch at "ON" position, the ignition unit consumes current and discharges the
battery. This may cause deep-discharging of the battery and reduction of its lifetime.
