Installing the Vacuum Tubes

IMPORTANT
For the safe installation of the tubes,
we recommend the opening of the
housing lid. This prevents damage to
the tubes.
1. Pull out pin as far as possible.
2. Remove the rubber seal only out of
the groove of the connection
housing. Pivot back the cover of the
housing and remove the insulating
mats.
3. Remove protective caps from the
tubes.
4. Push the tubes into the tube
holders until they click and then
push them into the header as far as
possible. The tube will click into the
tube clip. Be carefull not to compress
the flexible connector of the tube.
5. With the aid of the template provided
, rotate the vacuum tubes to align
them so that the coated side of the
absorber is oriented towards the sun
(see Fig. below).
The tubes should only be rotated a
max. of 25°.
Hydronic Connections
CAUTION
The vacuum tubes can become hot or
break if insufficient care is taken. To
avoid the possibility of skin burns, it
is recommended to install the tubes
on a cloudy day, or in the evening
when direct sun is no longer shining
on the collector location. Cover the
collectors after installation of tubes to
avoid overheating.
Wear gloves and eye protection to
avoid injury in case the vacuum tubes
are damaged during installation.
CAUTION
Do not twist the vacuum tubes by the
glass. Avoid any pushing or rotating
of the tube while holding the glass.
Push or rotate the tubes by holding
the metal tip only.
6. Secure the vacuum tubes with rubber
retainers
the installation rails
7. Carefully place the insulating mats in
position and close the connection
housing.
CAUTION
The collectors may be damaged if the
solar heating system is not filled with
heat transfer fluid immediately after
installation. Therefore, protect the
collectors against solar radiation by
covering them up.
