Installation on Flat Roofs
Overview of System Installation
24
This installation method allows for
collectors to be mounted on a flat roof
with tubes parallel to the roof and can
be used for any application. Ballast
weights are typically used to hold the
collectors in place, however collectors
can also be mounted to substructural
frames.
IMPORTANT
Installations on flat roofs must have
tubes installed to allow for proper
venting of air. The collector must be
installed with an upward slope to the
connection housing to allow air to
escape. A slope of 2° or 1/4" per foot
is recommended.
Align the collector panel with the
absorbers facing south and with the
tubes mounted in an east-west
direction.
Maximum tube rotation is 25° to avoid
shading. This limits the absorber plate
angle of inclination range from 0° to
25°.
