8. Network Settings
For Windows 2000:
From the [Start] menu, click [Settings], then click [Network and Dial-up Con-
nections].
Double-click the [Local Area Connections] icon.

Click [Properties].
Click [Allow] when the [User Account Control]
dialog box appears.
The [Local Area Connection Properties] dialog box
appears.
Select [Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/
IPv4)] (Windows 7/Vista) or [Internet Proto-
col (TCP/IP) (Windows XP/2000), then click
[Properties].
If the check box for [Internet Protocol] is not selected,
then click the check box to select it.
Select [Use the following IP address]. Enter
the information as shown below, then click
[OK].
[IP Address]: 192.168.0.XXX
[Subnet Mask]: 255.255.255.0
"XXX" may be any number you want from 1 to 254.
However, be sure to specify a number that does not
duplicate a number used for another computer or
device. Here, by way of example, "192.168.0.101" is
entered for the IP address and "255.255.255.0" for the
subnet mask.
