When the navigation system is no
longer able to continue destination guid-
ance or the car is now out of the loaded
map section, the system prompts for in-
serting the navigation CD-ROM. If the
user does not insert the CD-ROM, the
system adopts the operating conditions
for the above-mentioned first case,
therefore it interrupts all information on
the map and continues with GPS infor-
mation (car position indication and
number of available satellites).
WARNINGS
– When the new CD-ROM is entered,
the system software is automatically up-
dated to the new map material or to the
new functions. During the time required
for this operation, a stand-by message
is displayed. After the updating opera-
tion the destination memory is empty.
– The driver is always responsible for
abiding by current traffic regulations:
any instructions on the basis of incor-
rect maps which induce prohibited dri-
ving manoeuvres must NOT be fol-
lowed.

Press the NAV key 18 (fig. 1) to dis-
play the navigation system main
menu. On the left-hand side of the
display is shown the last destination
set. The functions available (fig. 70)
are:
– Destination
– Route
– Settings.

The options that can be activated
during or after entering the destina-
tion are the following:
– Guidance (to start the route calcu-
lation)
– Deactivate (to stop route calcula-
tion)
– Detour (to cut one or more
streets(roads or whole road sections
during route calculation)
– Info (to display navigation info)
– Mute (to mute voice guidance
info).
