Insert and put tip vertically on valve spring
retainer with 3 mm pretension (small pointer)
(Number 6).
Turn in the direction of rotation of the engine
until the small pointer on the dial gauge has
travelled back by 2 mm (valve stroke). The
value now read off on the vibration damper must
agree with the value in the table " Intake valve

Put engine on ignition TDC of No.1 cylinder

Unbolt and bolt up, replace sealing ring
Unbolt, set to one side with lines connected

Align with timing chain.
Unbolt camshaft timing gear (Numbers

Select from table and insert (Numbers

and 15).
Assemble, note color marking, only install set
bolt.
Repeat tests (Numbers 6 and
Tighten set bolt (9).
80 Nm (Numbers 16 to 18).
Detach.
Install (Number 20).
Proceed with installation in reverse sequence
