As the design of the piston crown (flat, recess or
step) has an influence on the compression, the
pistons are not interchangeable.
Two repair sizes (each step + 0.5 mm dia.) are
approved for the pistons of all engines.
The shape of the piston and the roughness of
the grinding pattern of the pistons has been
modified from 0.8 mm to 1.2 mm on Engine
102.982 as a noise-reducing measure.
