TRANSMISSION

REMOVING THE TRANSMISSION

1. Remove:
S crankcase (left)
Refer to "CRANKCASE AND CRANK-
SHAFT".
2. Remove:
S secondary shaft 1
S main axle 2
S drive axle 3
S primary driven gear 4
S first pinion gear 5
S first wheel gear 6

CHECKING THE TRANSMISSION

1. Measure:
S main axle runout
(with a centering device and dial gauge 1 )
Out of specification ! Replace the main
axle.
Max. main axle runout
0.08 mm
2. Measure:
S drive axle runout
(with a centering device and dial gauge 1 )
Out of specification ! Replace the drive
axle.
Max. drive axle runout
0.08 mm
3. Measure:
S secondary shaft runout
(with a centering device and dial gauge 1 )
Out of specification ! Replace the second-
ary shaft.
Max. secondary shaft runout limit
0.08 mm
