INSTALLING THE CAMSHAFTS

1. Install:
S timing chain guide (exhaust side)
a. Turn the crankshaft clockwise.
b. When piston #1 is at TDC on the compres-
sion stroke, align the TDC mark a on the
stationary pointer b .
2. Install:
S intake camshaft 1
S exhaust camshaft 2
3. Install:
S intake camshaft cap 1
S exhaust camshaft cap 2
a. Install the timing chain onto both camshaft
sprockets.
CAUTION:
Do not turn the crankshaft when installing
the camshaft to avoid damage or improper
valve timing.
b. Install the exhaust and intake camshaft cap.
Camshaft cap bolt
10 Nm (1.0 mSkg)
NOTE:
Make sure that camshaft sprocket timing hole
a are aligned with the cylinder head edge b .
Out of alignment ! Reinstall.
c. Remove the wire from the timing chain.
