The   H D   P rocessing   C ores  
The   HD-­‐1,   HD-­‐2,   and   HD-­‐3   menus   of   Omnia.9   provide   access   to   all   sections   of   the   HD   processing  
core(s)  depending  upon  configuration.    From  this  menu,  you  can  choose  the  input  source,  load  and  
save   presets,   and   make   changes   to   the   Parametric   Equalizer,   Downward   Expanders,   Input   AGC,  
Wideband  AGC1,  Multiband  Stereo  Enhancer,  Multiband  AGC  and  Limiters,  Wideband  AGC2,   Band  
Mix,   B ass   C lipper,   a nd   F inal   L imiter   s ections.  
The  vast  majority  of  the  menus  and  controls  in  each  of  Omnia.9's  HD  Processing  cores  operate  just  
as   their   counterparts   in   the   FM   Processing   core   do.     A   detailed   explanation   of   each   menu   and  
control   can   be   found   and   referenced   in   the  FM   Processing   menu   section   of   this   manual,   and   only  
controls   t hat   a re   d ifferent   i n   t he   H D   c ores   w ill   b e   e xplained   h ere.  
Band   M ix   M enu  
The   B and   M ix   m enu   c ontains   t he   c ontrols   f or   t he   B ass   C lipper   a nd   t he   F inal   L imiter.  
The  Bass  Clipper  in  the  HD  sections  operates  in  the  same  manner  as  its  counterpart  in  the  
FM   P rocessing   s ection.  
 
The   H D   p rocessing   c ores   d o   n ot   u se   a   f inal   c lipper   f or   p eak   c ontrol.     I nstead,   t hey   u se   a   l ook-­‐
ahead   l imiter,   w hich   i s   a djustable   b y   t he   F inal   L imiter   D rive  control   a nd   o perates   i n   a   r ange  
between   -­‐6.00   and   +6.00dB   in   one-­‐quarter   dB   increments.     Reducing   limiter   drive   (sliding  
the   c ontrol   t o   t he   l eft)   r educes   t he   a mount   o f   l imiting   a nd   g ives   y ou   a   m ore   o pen   s ound,   b ut  
at   t he   e xpense   o f   o verall   l oudness.     C onversely,   i ncreasing   l imiter   d rive   ( moving   t he   s lider   t o  
the   r ight)   w ill   r esult   i n   m ore   l imiting   a nd   a   l ouder   o utput,   b ut   a t   t he   e xpense   o f   d ynamics.
