The M P2 E ncoder m enu a llows y ou t o e nable o r d isable t he s tream, a djust i ts o utput g ain, e nter t he
stream's t itle, a nd s elect t he c hannel m ode, s ample r ate, a nd b it r ate.
The Title field allows you to enter the stream title displayed to listeners and on public
listings, s uch a s s houtcast.com.
The Enable control enables or disables the stream. When enabled, the encoder will
continually t ry t o c onnect t o t he s pecified s erver.
The Channel Mode menu provides a choice between Mono, Stereo, Joint Stereo, and Dual
Channel.
The Bit rate menu allows you to choose encoding bit rates between 64kbps and 384kbps.
Your choice of bit rate settings will significantly influence the audio quality of your stream.
However, you will also need to take other factors into consideration, such as the total
amount of bandwidth available for the stream, the anticipated number of users, your
maximum u pload s peed, a nd t he d ownload s peed l imits o f y our i ntended u sers.
The S ample R ate m enu w ill e ither m aintain O mnia.9's s ample r ate o f 4 8kHz i n t he e ncoder,
or c onvert i t t o 8 , 1 1.025, 1 6, 2 2.05, 2 4, 3 2, o r 4 4.1kHz.
The G ain c ontrol d etermines t he f inal o utput l evel o f t he e ncoder.
