2 Install TCP/IP on the computer and set the IP address.
Settings for Windows 98/95
The following procedure describes how to enable the TCP/IP protocol and set the IP address on the computer.
1)
Quit all running programs.
2)
From the [Start] menu, point to [Settings] and choose [Control Panel].
3)
Double-click the [Network] icon.
4)
Choose the [Configuration] tab.
5)
Click [Add].
6)
Choose [Protocol].
7)
Click [Add].
8)
In the [Manufacturers] box, choose [Microsoft].
9)
In the [Network Protocols] box, choose [TCP/IP].
10) Click [OK] to enable the TCP/IP protocol.
11) At the [Configuration] tab, from the displayed list, choose [TCP/IP].
12) Click [Properties].
13) Choose the [IP Address] tab.
14) Activate the selection for [Specify an IP address].
15) In [IP Address], enter the IP address for the computer that you decided on in "1 Confirm the IP addresses of the computer and the
print server." Here, enter 192.168.000.100 as an example.
16) Enter the [Subnet Mask]. Here, enter 255.255.255.000 as an example.
17) Click [OK].
18) In the [Network] window, click [OK].
19) When you are asked whether to restart the computer, click [Yes] to restart.
This completes the setup of TCP/IP in Windows 98/95 and the settings for the IP address.
Settings for Windows NT 4.0
The following procedure describes how to set the IP address for the computer. TCP/IP is enabled by default.
1)
From the [Start] menu, point to [Settings] and choose [Control Panel].
2)
Double-click the [Network] icon.
3)
Choose the [Protocols] tab.
4)
In the [Network Protocols] box, choose [TCP/IP Protocol].
5)
Click [Properties].
6)
Choose the [IP Address] tab.
7)
Activate the setting for [Specify an IP address].
8)
In [IP Address], enter the IP address for the computer that you decided on in "1 Confirm the IP addresses of the computer and the
print server." Here, enter 192.168.000.100 as an example.
9)
Enter the [Subnet Mask]. Here, enter 255.255.255.000 as an example.
10) Click [OK].
11) In the [Network] window, click [OK].
This completes the setting of the IP address for Windows NT 4.0.

In the included "Roland-PrintServer for Macintosh Users," follow the instructions in "TCP/IP Settings on the Macintosh" and make the
settings.
