1. Installation Emplacement and Installation Operations Emplacement and installation of the machine are to be carried out by a service technician. Do not emplace or move the machine yourself. WARNING The machine weighs approximately 500 kg (1103 lb.), and moving it requires special equip- ment and training.
1. Setup Guide Deciding On an Installation Site Install in a quiet, stable location offering good operating conditions. An unsuitable location can cause accident, fire, faulty operation, or breakdown. Install the machine in a location that is level, stable, and able to bear the weight of WARNING the machine.
1. Setup Guide Temperature and Humidity Maintain the specified temperature and humidity even when the machine is not in use. Temperatures that are too high may degrade the ink and cause malfunction. Temperatures that are too low may cause the ink to freeze and damage the heads.

Removing the Packing Materials 1 Removing Tape and Packing Materials from the Front Cover and Print Head Tape and packing materials are attached to the machine to protect it from vibration during transportation. When installation is complete, remove them. CAUTION Be sure to remove the packing materials according to the procedure.

4. Connecting Cables Connecting the Power Cord WARNING Do not use with any electrical power supply that does not meet the ratings dis- played on the unit. Use with any other power supply may lead to fire or electrocution. Ground the unit with the ground wire. WARNING Failure to do so may result in risk of electrocution in the event of a mechanical problem.
4. Connecting Cables Connecting the Machine to a Computer Use a USB cable to make the connection to the computer. Be sure to make the connection between the machine and the computer during the course of installing the driver. 5. Installing the Ink Cartridges Filling with Ink for the First Time Special procedures are required when installing ink cartridges for the first time. These are required only once, when installing ink cartridges for the first time after shipment from the factory. You first clean the print heads using cleaning fluid, then fill with the inks of the various colors.

6. Removing the Packing Materials 2 Remove the Packing Materials From the Base Section Tape and packing materials are attached to the machine to protect it from vibration during transportation. When installation is complete, remove them. CAUTION Be sure to remove the tape and packing materials according to the procedure. Failure to follow the procedures may cause sudden operation or the like of the machine, which may result in unexpected injury.

7. Matching the Machine to the Environment Where Installed Adjust the machine to optimize its state to the environment where it is used. WARNING Do not touch the machine while it is in operation. If you do, your fingers or hand may get caught in the machine, which may lead to serious injury.

7. Matching the Machine to the Environment Where Installed Press [LIFTER ORIGIN RESET]. Check that there is nothing on the table and press [NEXT]. Press the key to lower the lifter until the safety sensor detects the table. When the safety sensor detects the table, the [¤] mark changes to black.
