Installing an Ethernet adapter

Installing an optional CD-RW/DVD drive

To install an Ethernet adapter, complete the following steps:
1. Read the safety information that begins on page vii and "Installation guidelines"
on page 36.
2. Make sure that the server is turned off, all external cables and power cords are
disconnected, and the cover has been removed. For more information, see
"Turning off the server" on page 21 and "Removing the cover" on page 43.
3. On the inside of the server chassis, press down on the two tabs on the Ethernet
adapter filler panel and push out the filler panel.
4. Align the Ethernet adapter and bracket as shown in the previous illustration.
5. Press down on the Ethernet adapter to connect it to the system board. Make
sure that the bracket pins go into the holes in the system board.
If you have other devices to install or remove, do so now. Otherwise, go to
"Completing the installation" on page 106.

To install an optional CD-RW/DVD drive, complete the following steps.
