3. Measure:
S camshaft lobe dimensions A and B
Out of specification ! Replace the cam-
shaft.
Camshaft lobe dimension limit
Intake
Exhaust
4. Check:
S camshaft oil passage
Obstruction ! Blow out with compressed air.

CHECKING THE ROCKER ARMS AND
ROCKER ARM SHAFTS
The following procedure applies to all of the
rocker arms and rocker arm shafts.
1. Check:
S rocker arm
Damage/wear ! Replace.
2. Check:
S rocker arm shaft
Blue discoloration/excessive
ting/scratches ! Replace or check the lu-
brication system.
3. Check:
S camshaft lobe
Excessive wear ! Replace the camshaft.
4. Measure:
S rocker arm inside diameter
Out of specification ! Replace.
Rocker arm inside diameter
12.000 X 12.018 mm
Limit 12.036 mm
5. Measure:
S rocker arm shaft outside diameter
Out of specification ! Replace.
Rocker arm shaft outside
diameter
11.985 X 11.991 mm
Limit 11.950 mm
