Diagnostics Menus

The DSR-4530's diagnostic menus allow the user to isolate problems to the DSR-
4530 or the satellite using the front panel. The menus also enable the user to test
waveforms and use other diagnostic information displayed on an NTSC television
monitor connected through the rear-panel video output.
Caution: Turning on diagnostics changes the video or audio output, and these
diagnostic screens or tones may be transmitted to the cable customers if the
receiver is connected to the cable plant.
To access the Diagnostic menus, press ENTER button to return to the main top-level
menu (shown below).
Press the 34 buttons until the cursor is at the Diag label, and press the ENTER
button. The DSR-4530 displays the first sub-menu within the Diagnostics menus.

Diagnostics Menu

Press the 56 buttons until the Diagnostics menu appears (shown below).

Menus Field

The Menus field allows the user to enable or disable the on-screen diagnostics to a
video monitor connected to the rear of the IRD.
Note: For more information on the diagnostic screens, refer to"Viewing the Fast
Fact Diagnostic Screens" (described on page 70).
Press the 4 button until the cursor is at the Menus label, and press the ENTER
button to move into the field. Press the 56 buttons to scroll to the televised screen
of choice (i.e., Off, Fact 1-5; Diag A-E). Press the ENTER button to confirm the
selection and exit this field.
Note: The Diag A-E are typically used by Motorola with hotline troubleshooting.
