Pan brake

11
To dismantle the pan brake
11.1 Remove the pan brake knob
11.2 With the head upside-down, remove six screws (16) securing pan brake cover/PCB support (17)
to mechanism housing (26).
11.3 Insert a suitable rod though the spigot hole in pan brake cover/PCB support (17) and push down
on pan brake spigot (18). Pull off pan brake cover/PCB support (17).
11.4 Lift the pan brake kit (25) off the pan brake spigot (18) and rotate until it can be pulled off the pan
brake actuator (24). Examine brake pads on pan brake kit and replace complete kit if necessary.
Remove pan brake spigot (18).
11.5 Unscrew pan brake shaft (19) from pan brake actuator (24) and remove both from head.

Tilt drag

To remove the tilt drag/tilt brake assembly
12.1 Remove two screws (23) securing tilt drag/tilt brake assembly in bearing (22).
12.2 Remove screw (11) and screw (12) securing tilt drag/tilt brake assembly to mechanism housing
(21). Note position of screws.
12.3 Remove screw (16) and screw (17) securing tilt drag/tilt brake assembly to mechanism housing
(21). Note position of screws.
12.4 Pull tilt drag/tilt brake assembly out of mechanism housing (21) to the extent allowed by the drag
knob wiring. Light tapping of the bearing may be necessary.
NOTE: If not already differentiated by colour, identify the battery and drag knob wires for re-
assembly.

To separate the tilt drag assembly from the outrigger
13.1 Remove the tilt brake knob (20)
13.2 Remove the plug (15) from the tilt drag knob (18). Remove screw (16) and washer (17) and pull
the knob off the shaft (6). Retain the drag knob boss (14), two balls (13) and springs (12).
13.3 Remove the self-adhesive outrigger label (19).
13.4 Remove two screws (11) and screw (23).
13.5 Ensure that the tilt brake is turned fully counter-clockwise to the OFF position, then rotate the
outrigger assembly (9) clockwise until the tilt brake shaft (24) is at the one-o-clock position in relation to
