EXTENDED RESULT CODES, BUSY TONE
DETECT
X n controls two different parameters. Extended result
codes are shown in Table E-1 in Appendix E. Busy
Tone Detect determines whether the modem monitors
the line for a busy signal.
X, X0 Disables extended result codes and busy
tone detect.
X1 Enables extended result codes and
disables busy tone detect.
X2 Enables extended result codes and
disables busy tone detect.
X3 Enables extended result codes and busy
tone detect.
X4 Enables all result codes and busy tone
detect.
LONG SPACE DISCONNECT
Determines whether the DataPort PCX modem
disconnects if a long space (more than 1.6 seconds)
is detected, and sends a long space (4 seconds)
when it disconnects.
A cleardown is transmitted instead of a long space in
V.32bis or V.32 modes, but a received long space still
causes a disconnect if this option is enabled.
