4.5. Exchange of the clutch drum with chain sprocket fitted

Remove spark plug connector and spark plug.
Fit locking bolt (ROTAX part no. 277 380) right down to stop in spark plug thread.
Remove hex. nut (item 15) and thrust washer (item 13). See fig. 15.
Remove clutch drum (item 12) with fitted chain sprocket.
Clear thread of crankshaft and hex. nut (item 15) from remains of bonding agent and
degrease.

Note:
For the chain sprocket with 11 teeth, use the plain bearing (9) instead of the needle
cage (9). The plain bearing has to be pressed flush into the bore of the chain
sprocket with chamfered end leading.
If not absolutely necessary on a certain track try not to use a chain sprocket with 11
teeth because of the heavy wear of the plain bearing (pos. 9) used only with this
sprocket.
Apply grease on needle cage (9) at use of chain sprocket with 12, 13 and 14 teeth
or on plain bearing (9) for chain sprocket with 11 teeth.
Fit the assembled clutch drum with the selected number of teeth.
Apply ERGO 4052 on the thread of hex.nut (item 15).
