in battery voltage adequate to generate a spark. But if the spark plug is fitted again it
may happen that the engine won't start.
Note:
To charge a battery, the battery charging unit specified by ROTAX and available as
an accessory should be utilized (charging unit, part no. 265 147).
Note:
To be able to use the battery charger in your homecountry pls. contact your nearest
authorized ROTAX distributor or one of ist Rotax Service center to receive an
adapter plug resp. an adapter cable.
Note:
This battery charger includes the feature that when the target voltage is reached it
will switch over automatically to maintenance charge. Therefore overcharging with
the result of ruining the battery, will be impossible.
Attention: Use of any other battery charger can impair the battery life or may ruin the battery.
When charging the battery take note of the following:
Connect the red plug of the charging
unit on plus terminal of battery (fig. 13).
Attention: The battery charger is not equipped
with a protection against wrong
connection. Incorrect
polarity of connection would result in
the damage of the battery charger.
Plug in the battery charger on 110 –
230 V / 50 –
During the charging process the
charging control
lamp will light up red.
At completion of the charging process the contol lamp will change to green but the
charging current will remain thus warranting a fully charged battery.
The charging time is approx. 12 hours.
Note:
The battery charger may be connected to the battery for a longer period, as the
battery takes just the current required to achieve a fully charged battery.
Note:
A charging control lamp still red after 24 hours of charging might indicate a faulty
battery.
Note:
Red/green blinking of the charging control lamp indicates transition from main
charging to additional charging and does not signal a faulty battery charger.
Disconnect the battery charger from the voltage supply.
Remove the charging cables from the battery.
The battery is now ready again for service.
Attention: Beside these notes observe also the directions of the manufacturer of the battery
charger (enclosed in the battery charger).
