    Choose a Site 1. Choose a Site Follow these guidelines to select a site for your Office Router. Environment Choose a clean and dust-free environment. Choose a secure, flat surface area for desktop installation. Choose an air conditioned area if possible. Choose an area without direct sunlight, close proximity to heat sources, or high levels of electromagnetic interference (EMI).

  • Page 31 Turn On Power While the router is booting, the System LED blinks four times in rapid succession and then twice in 1 second. During normal operation, the LED blinks once every 5 seconds. If the LED does not behave in this way, see “Observing LED Behavior” on page A-1.
  • Page 32 Turn On Power If a SPID is set on the port and a circuit to the telephone company exists, the NT1 LED blinks once per second while synchronizing with the telephone company and then stays solidly lit.
