power trim and tilt when the outboard
motor is used with the light load condition.
In this case, it can be adjusted to set the
desired trim angle of the outboard motor in
relation to the transom shape, planing
speeds and load. It is imperative that the
trim angle is adjusted correctly. Incorrect
adjustment will cause the boat to sway,
deteriorate engine performance and may
cause unsafe steering conditions.

CAUTION
The power Tilt can be set to any trim angle,
however, avoid cruising with the outboard
motor tilted in the tilt range. Operating the
boat in this manner, the outboard motor
may ingest air into the water cooling sys-
tem, resulting in engine overheating.

With the shift lever in Neutral or Forward,
fully tilt the motor up toward you by hold-
ing the tilt handle provided at the rear of

the top cowl. Then slightly lower the motor
for locking in the up position.
