Creating a Server Certificate on Windows Server 2003
From Control Panel select:

Administrative Tools > Internet Information Services
This opens the Internet Information Services window.

In the left-hand frame, navigate to the Web site through which users will access Interviewer
Server. Then right-click on the web site name and select Properties.
This opens the Web Site Properties dialog box.

On the Directory Security tab, click
This starts the IIS Certificate Wizard.

On the Welcome page, click
On the Server Certificate page, select
E
On the Delayed or Immediate Request page, click
E
click
.
Next
On the Name and Security Settings page, enter the name of your web site. (You can enter any
E
name you like here, but it is a good idea to enter a name that can be recognized later.) Click
On the Organization Information page, enter a name of your choice in both fields and then click
E
.

The Your Site's Common Name page should show the correct computer name for the chosen
web site, so click
Next
On the Geographical Information page, complete the fields as appropriate.

Click
on all other pages until you reach the end of the wizard. Then click
E
Next
the Web Site Properties dialog box.
In the Secure communications frame, click

This opens the Secure Communications dialog box.
Select

Require secure channel (SSL)
Close IIS.

The certificate used for SSL must be trusted on the local machine. To check this, proceed as
E
follows:
Open Internet Explorer and select:
Tools > Internet Options
On the Content tab click
On the Certificates dialog box, select the Trusted Root Certification Authorities tab and check
that the certificate for SSL appears in the list.
