Identifying Anonymous Callers
(Call Tracing)
Your service provider can identify malicious external
callers. You can save the caller's station number during
the call or up to 30 seconds after the call ends. Howev-
er, you must not replace your handset during this time.

Locking the Telephone to Prevent Un-
authorized Use
You can prevent unauthorized persons from using your
handset during your absence.
Precondition: You received a personal identification
number (PIN) from your service personnel.
Locking the phone against unauthorized dialing:

Enter the PIN (code number).
After you have finished tracing the call, the data
is stored on the service provider's system. Now
contact your service personnel.
When the handset is locked, a special dial tone
sounds when you press the talk key. You can con-
tinue to dial internal HiPath 4000 numbers as
usual.
