HOW TO DETERMINE IF THE DTV TUNER UNIT IS DEFECTIVE
NO PICTURE Picture is NOT displayed,
AND/OR Menu (OSD) is displayed,
NO SOUND Sound is not output
(1) Confirmation of Analog Channel input
Disconnect all connector cables on the TV/Tuner Unit, then take out the TV/Tuner Unit from the unit.
Or, place the unit in Service Position (1).
Refer to DTV Tuner Unit Service Position, Figure A or B.
Connect the cable from the antenna or cable system for analog CH to the ANTENNA (A) terminal of the DTV Tuner Unit.
Select "Cable/Antenna" in Input Setup, and press OK to start Auto Scan.Then, select the desired CH.
Check the voltage at the following points on the
Tuner C.B.A. (Use Pin 1 of P7007 as GND.)
P7007(Pin 3) : Approx. +30V
P7007(Pin 50~53, 58~61) : Approx. +10V
P7007(Pin 64) : Approx.+7.5V
OK
Is the voltage at Pin 2 of P7007 (RF-SW)
on the Tuner C.B.A. approx. 0V (Low)?
OK
Is the voltage at Pin 36 of P7007 (D/A-SW)
on the Tuner C.B.A. approx. +3.3V (High)?
OK
No picture or No sound?
NO PICTURE
Is there video signal at Pin 34 of P7007
on the Tuner C.B.A.?
NG
Replace the DTV Tuner Unit
NO SOUND
Are there audio signal at Pin 24 and 26 of
P7007 on the Tuner C.B.A.?
NG
Replace the DTV Tuner Unit
Check the voltage at the following points
on the Tuner C.B.A.
NG
(Use Pin 5 of P7002 as GND.)
P7002(Pin 1) : Approx. +30V
P7002(Pin 2, 3) : Approx. +10V
OK
Check the following parts on the Tuner
C.B.A.
IC7001, Q7001, Q7002, Q7003
Replace the defective parts if necessary.
NG Is the voltage at Pin 42 of IC6003
(RF-SW) on the Main C.B.A. approx.
+3.3.V (High)?
OK
Check RF-SW signal line between Pin 42
of IC6003 on the Main C.B.A. and Pin 2
of P7007 on the Tuner C.B.A.
NG Is the voltage at Pin 58 of IC6003
(D/A-SW) on the Main C.B.A. approx.
+3.3.V (High)?
OK
Check D/A-SW signal line between
Pin 58 of IC6003 on the Main C.B.A.
and Pin 36 of P7007 on the Tuner C.B.A.
OK Is there video signal at Pin 35 of IC3501
on the Rear Jack C.B.A.?
NG
Check the video signal line between
Pin 34 of P7007 on the Tuner C.B.A.
and Pin 35 of IC3501 on the Rear Jack
C.B.A.
OK Are there audio signal at Pin 54 and 55
of IC3602 on the Rear Jack C.B.A.?
NG
Check the audio signal line between
Pin 24, 26 of P7007 on the Tuner C.B.A.
and Pin 54, 55 of IC3602 on the Rear
Jack C.B.A.
