4. • Diesel engine equipped vehicle:
Turn the ignition key to "ON" position and check the ap-
propriate warning lights are operating. The preglow indi-
cator light will come on and go out when the glow plugs
are sufficiently heated for cold engine starting. As soon as
the glow indicator goes out, start the engine.
• Gasoline engine equipped vehicle:
Turn the ignition key to "ON" position and check the ap-
propriate warning lights are operating.
5. Crank the engine without touching the accelerator pedal
by turning the igniting key to the "START" position. Release
the key when the engine starts. If the engine starts, but fails
to run, repeat the above procedure.

6. Warm up the engine in idling speed. Do not warm up the
engine over 2 minutes.
7. Make sure that there are no persons or obstacles in the
danger area around the vehicle.
8. Release the parking brake.
9. • Automatic transmission equipped vehicle
Keep the brake pedal depressed and shift into
position. Make sure that the position indicators of
"1"
are coming. Drive off the vehicle by releasing the brake
pedal slowly.
• Manual transmission equipped vehicle
Keep the brake pedal and clutch pedal depressed and shift
into "1" position. To drive off the vehicle, release the brake
pedal and depress the accelerator pedal gradually while
releasing the clutch pedal slowly.
