Parking Brake Operation
Park at a safe place and depress the parking brake pedal
firmly. When the pedal is depressed, the brake warning light
on the instrument panel comes on.
Parking Brake Release
To release parking brake, pull up the parking brake release
lever.

TRANSMISSION AND BRAKE SYSTEM
Warning Sound When Driving While the Park-
ing Brake is Engaged
If you drive the vehicle without releasing the parking brake,
the brake warning light blinks and buzzer sounds to warn the
driver when the vehicle speed exceeds 10 km/h for more than
2 seconds. When this happens, stop the vehicle immediately
and release the parking brake.

CAUTION
• Before driving off, be sure to check that the brake warning light is
turned off.
• Driving with parking brake applied could damage rear brake system.
Before driving, fully release the parking brake.
• If the brake warning light doesn't go out after releasing the park-
ing brake, have the brake system checked by Ssangyong Dealer
or Ssangyong Authorized Service Operation.
