Chapter 7: BIOS
PCI-E Slot from SXB1/PCI-E Slot from SXB2/PCI-E Slot from SXB3
Select Enabled to enable PCI-E SXB1 slot, PCI-E SXB2 slot or PCI-E SXB3 slot.
It can also enable Option ROMs to boot computer using a network interface from
these slots. (SXB1, a x16 slot, can be confi gured into two x8 slots. SXB2, a x8 slot,
can be confi gured into two x4 slots.) The options are Enabled and Disabled.
Onboard LAN Option ROM Select
Select iSCSI to use iSCSI Option ROMs to boot the computing using a network
device. Select iSCSI to use PXE Option ROMs to boot the computing using a
network device. The options are iSCSI and PXE.
Load Onboard LAN1 Option ROM/Load Onboard LAN2 Option ROM
Select Enabled to enable the onboard LAN1 or LAN2 Option ROM. This is to boot
the computer using a network interface. The options are Enabled and Disabled.
Super IO Device Confi guration
Uart 2 of Hermon as (Available on X8DTU-F Only)
Select COM to confi gure the onboard COM 2 port as a normal serial port. Select
SOL to confi gure the onboard COM 2 port as a virtual COM port for SOL use.
The options are SOL and COM.
Serial Port1 Address/ Serial Port2 Address
This option specifi es the base I/O port address and the Interrupt Request address
of Serial Port 1 and Serial Port 2. Select Disabled to prevent the serial port from
accessing any system resources. When this option is set to Disabled, the serial port
physically becomes unavailable. Select 3F8/IRQ4 to allow the serial port to use 3F8
as its I/O port address and IRQ 4 for the interrupt address. The options for Serial
Port1 are Disabled, 3F8/IRQ4, 3E8/IRQ4, 2E8/IRQ3. The options for Serial Port2
are Disabled, 2F8/IRQ3, 3E8/IRQ4, and 2E8/IRQ3.
Remote Access Confi guration
Remote Access
This allows the user to enable the Remote Access feature. The options are Dis-
abled and Enabled.
If Remote Access is set to Enabled, the following items will display:
Serial Port Number
This feature allows the user decide which serial port to be used for Console Redi-
rection. The options are COM 1 and COM 2.
