TIFF, CCITT, and CALS emulations are also supported as host-based
filters through the QMS ImageServer Option.
User Benefit—Extra emulations allow you to print documents cre-
ated in printer languages other than those resident on the printer.
An optional security card allows you to password-protect the printer's
configuration menu. The card can be inserted in either of the two card
slots.
User Benefit—A security card restricts access to the configuration
menu to those users with valid passwords, thus ensuring that default
settings are not changed inappropriately.
The following interfaces are available for the printer: Ethernet (for LAN
Manager/LAN Server, TCP/IP, NetWare, or EtherTalk), Token-Ring
(for LAN Manager/LAN Server, TCP/IP, or NetWare), LocalTalk, and
SCSI.
User Benefit—Interfacing flexibility.
The QMS magicolor CX provides support for an internal IDE hard disk
and up to 3 external SCSI hard disks.
User Benefit——Hard disks provide true virtual memory as well as
storage for character bitmaps, downloaded outline fonts, and other
files.
