Parallel Menu
ComMode
The Parallel Menu allows you to choose settings for the printer parallel
interface, using the ComMode, HighSpeed, and Timing submenus.
ComMode allows you to select the operating mode for the parallel
interface. Under normal circumstances, you should operate in the AUTO
mode. ComMode settings include AUTO, which enables ECP, byte,
nibble or compatible mode; ECP, which enables ECP, byte, nibble or
compatible mode; BYTE, which enables byte, nibble or compatible mode;
NIBBLE, which enables nibble or compatible mode; or CMPA, which
enables compatible mode only.
The following example shows how to change the ComMode setting from
AUTO to CMPA:
