3. Make sure the slot in the speedometer
gear unit fits over the stopper on the front
fork outer tube.
4. Make sure the wheel axle is properly
torqued.
Tightening torque:
Wheel axle:
59 Nm (5.9 m·kgf)
5. Tighten the pinch bolt.
Pinch bolt torque:
20 Nm (2.0 m·kgf)
6. After tightening the pinch bolt, push down
the front fork several times to check for
proper fork operation.

Rear wheel removal

It is advisable to have a Yamaha dealer
service the wheel.

Securely support the motorcycle so there
is no danger of it falling over.
1. Elevate the rear wheel by placing a suit-
able stand under the engine.
2. Remove the cotter pin, nut and tension
bar bolt from the brake shoe plate.
