terminal connected to the Controller are in the correct position and are the

Checking OTU Input wiring:
Attach a handset to the controller and enter controller handset commands
to set the status of the 16 controller outputs. Set different output bit patterns
on the controller handset terminal. Attach a handset to the OTU and enter
commands to display the status of the OTU inputs. Ensure that the OTU
inputs displayed on the OTU handset terminal are in the correct position
and are the correct value.
Alternatively the OTU I/O cable wiring can be checked using the outstation
test set as described in section 5.
Check that the status LEDs illuminate correctly; see section 3.4.1.

3.3.3 Configuration Using the Handset

Note: Configuration of the OTU is also possible using IPT1. Refer to IPT
handbook for instructions.
With the OTU powered up connect a handset terminal needs to be connected.
Once connected the handset will display the sign on message 'SIEMENS OTU'
and commands can then be entered to configure the OTU.
The PC in the TC12 Instation Test Set can be used as a handset terminal -
refer to section 4.7. The PC keyboard makes entry of commands easier than with
a conventional handset terminal. Alternatively a conventional handheld handset
terminal (the same type as used to configure controllers; part number
667/4/13296/000) can be used.
If the OTU is newly installed at the site or is a replacement unit it is to necessary to
perform a full OTU reset to clear any previous configuration data.
The descriptions of the handset commands listed below are arranged, as far as
possible, in functional groups in the order that they should be entered to configure
the OTU.
Note: Curly brackets {} in a command indicate numbers that are stated on the
Outstation Information Sheet. Curved brackets () after configuration items
indicate the default configuration value.
