2.2.4.3 Transformer PCB and Modem/Transformer Cable
Figure 10 shows the layout of the Transformer PCB.
Ensure that the correct variant has been supplied e.g.
The PCB is fitted with a cover (part number 667/2/22647/000 top, /001 rear). This
cover must ALWAYS be fitted before any connectors are attached to the PCB, and
should NEVER be removed whilst any cables are connected to the PCB.
Each Transformer PCB has a ribbon cable (part number 667/1/22646/000) with a
14-way connector at one end and a 37-way 'D' connector at the other. This
connects the Transformer PCB (T1, T2 etc.) to its associated Modem PCB (i.e.
M1, M2 etc.).
The cable connects from PL2 on a transformer PCB to PL3 on its associated
modem PCB.
Figure 11 shows a rear view of a fully equipped rack. The positions of the ribbon
cables are indicated.
These connectors are used for connection to the MDF (see Figure 15).
Ensure that for any unused telephone lines the corresponding switches on the
front of the PCB are set to ON. For example, if the 7th and 8th radial lines of
modem 2 are not used then switches 7 and 8 of S2 should be put to the on
position.
