■ Position and Time indication

When a GPS recever (NMEA0183 ver. 2.0 or 3.01) s con-
nected, the transcever dsplays the current poston and
tme. When no GPS recever s connected, the transcever
dsplays the manually entered poston and tme.
A GPS recever approprate for the IC-M604 s not suppled
from Icom. A GPS recever wth NMEA0183 ver. 2.0 or 3.01
format s requred for poston and tme ndcaton. Ask your
dealer about sutable GPS recevers.

➥ When the connectng GPS recever s compatble wth
several sentence formats, the order of nput prece-
dence s 'RMC,' 'GGA,' 'GNS', 'GLL' and 'VTG.'
➥ When sentence format 'RMC' s receved, tme ndca-
ton ncludes a date. Thus, the "UTC" or "Local" ndca-
ton s not dsplayed.
➥ "??" may blnk nstead of poston and tme ndcatons
when the GPS data s nvald, or has not been manu-
ally updated after 4 hours.
