Common
Problem
No Power
Solution
Insert the power cord's plug securely into the outlet and the cord's AC IN plug to
the AC IN connector
on the back of the player.
Power turns itself off
The power is automatically
turned off after approx
30 minutes have elapsed in the
stop mode (auto power-off
feature). Turn power back on.
Play fails to start, even
•
Ensure that the disc is installed
with the label side facing up.
when
PLAY is pressed
•
This player plays only DVD discs, Audio
CDs and Video CDs.
Play commences
but then
•
The disc is dirty. Clean it.
stops immediately
•
Condensation
has formed. Allow
player to dry out.
No picture
•
Ensure that the equipment
is connected
properly.
•
Turn on the TV's power.
•
Ensure that the input setting for the TV is correct.
Picture is distorted
during
•
The picture
will be somewhat
disturbed
at these times. This is normal.
forward
and reverse scan
No sound or distorted sound
•
No operations
can be
performed
with remote
Ensure that the equipment
is connected
properly.
Ensure that the input settings and the volume
acljustment
for the TV
and/or receiver
are correct.
No sound is heard during
still, frame advance,
or slow-motionplay.
Make sure you have connected
the correct
SURROUND
OUT jacks to a
receiver or television.
Be sure to setup the player for these jacks using the
Surround
Sound menu.
•
Check the batteries in the remote. May need replacing.
•
Operate the remote control
at a distance of no more than 20 feet.
•
Remove any obstacles
between the remote and the DVD player or
other component.
•
Remote may need to be reprogrammed
for DVD player. Hold down
DVD button
and enter 078.
•
Remote may need to be reprogrammed
to operate other components
after
batteries have been changed.
•
Remove batteries and hold down one or more buttons for several
minutes to drain the microprocessor
inside the remote to reset it.
Reinstall batteries and try remote again.
