Zooming

Available modes: TAPE-CAMERA, DUAL-
CAMERA, CARD-CAMERA
Zooming allows you to move visually closer to
or farther from a subject without physically
changing your position. When using optical
zoom, it is possible to enlarge the subject up to
10 in TAPE-CAMERA or DUAL-CAMERA
mode, and up to 7 in CARD-CAMERA mode.

To zoom in
Press the Power Zoom T (telephoto) button to
get a close-up view (1).
To zoom out
Press the Power Zoom W (wide angle) button to
get a wide field of view (2).

• The on-screen display shows you the current
zoom setting.
• The zoom speed depends on how strongly
you press the Power Zoom buttons.
Notes:
• The camcorder is unable to focus when zooming
in on subjects within 1.5 m. The camcorder will
automatically zoom out until it is able to focus on
the subject. (See page 45 for recording macro
shots.)

Tips on Recording Positions

To create images that are easy to watch during
playback, try to record with a stable posture
while steadying your camcorder to prevent the
image from shaking.
Holding the camcorder
Put your right hand through the hand strap,
and place your left hand under the camcorder
for support.

Turn the LCD monitor
so that the screen faces

Raise the viewfinder
to view the subject.

• Take care not to touch the microphone with your
fingers during recording. It will cause noise on
the audio track.
