Picture/Backlight Adjust-
ments
Available modes: all modes
If the picture on the screen is difficult to see
due to ambient lighting or other factors, adjust
the screen picture settings.
Adjusting the screen picture

Display the menu screen (see page 31).

Touch [K] or [L] to select "T", and
then touch [SET].

Touch [K] or [L] to select "LCD
BRIGHT", "LCD COLOUR", or "VF
BRIGHT", and then touch [SET].
LCD BRIGHT: Adjusts the brightness of
the picture on the LCD monitor.
LCD COLOUR: Adjusts the colour density
of the picture on the LCD monitor.
VF BRIGHT: Adjusts the brightness of the
picture in the viewfinder.

Touch [K] or [L] to adjust the item to
the desired setting.

Note: The viewfinder turns on if you select
"VF BRIGHT" and then touch [SET]. Adjust
the setting by turning the CONTROL dial
while looking through the viewfinder.

until the menu screen turns off.
Adjusting the LCD monitor backlight

Display the menu screen (see page 31).

Touch [K] or [L] to select "T", and
then touch [SET]. Touch [K] or [L] to
select "BACKLIGHT", and then touch
[SET].

Touch [K] or [L] to select "AUTO",
"NORMAL", or "BRIGHT", and then
touch [SET].
BA CK L I GH T
AUTO: The camcorder automatically
switches between "NORMAL" and
"BRIGHT" depending on the ambient
lighting. (This mode is only available in
the CAMERA modes.)
NORMAL: For use indoors or under
moderate lighting conditions.
BRIGHT: For use outdoors under strong
lighting conditions, such as bright
daylight.

Touch [RETURN] until the menu screen
turns off.
Note:
• When the LCD COLOUR item is adjusted, the
picture on the LCD monitor may differ from the
picture actually recorded. Do not change the
colour setting unless it is necessary. (This
adjustment only affects the screen picture, not
the recorded image.)
