Troubleshooting
If the infrastructure does not power up:
1. Disconnect the system from the facility power source.
2. Check the power source:
— For a facility AC source, be sure that the AC power meets applicable
standards.
— For a facility DC source, have a licensed electrician check the facility DC
source.
Refer to the ProLiant BL p-Class System Overview and Planning white paper and
the Servers Troubleshooting Guide.
3. Be sure that the hot-plug power supplies are properly installed, if applicable.
Refer to the documentation that ships with the hot-plug power supply.
4. Check the bus bar and/or power bus box cabling to be sure that all cables are
connected properly. Refer to the documentation that ships with the component.
IMPORTANT: Always check power cables for each bus.
5. Connect the system to the facility power source.
6. Be sure that the circuit breakers are in the on position. Refer to the
documentation that ships with the power component.
IMPORTANT: If the system does not power up, proceed to the "System Power
Diagnostic Steps" section in this appendix.

System Power Diagnostic Steps

If the system does not power up or powers up partially, answer the questions in
Table C-1 to determine appropriate actions based on the symptoms observed.
According to the answers you give, the table directs you to the appropriate table that
immediately follows.
