Chapter 2
Alternate 100 - 120 VAC Power Configurations
When the 100-120 VAC PDU is used without a UPS in the rack, the PDU needs
one branch circuit with a NEMA 5-20 receptacle.
NOTE
PDUs, UPSs, and power cables will vary from those presented
here to meet Japanese standards.
If neither a UPS nor a PDU are used in the 100-120 VAC case, plug the
components directly into NEMA 5-15 receptacles using the line cords supplied.
If you use a wall socket directly without a UPS or PDU, be sure to check power
requirements against the amperage rating of your electrical system. See the
section titled "Site Preparation: Circuit Breakers" earlier in this chapter. If your
electrical system has the capacity to power the components, plug the HP
NetServer LPr, LH 3r, Pro and Rack Storage/8 units into NEMA 5-15 receptacles
using the 90 inch (approximately 230 cm) power cords supplied.
