The setting of this option determines the effect of pressing keys in the keypad on the right
side of the keyboard.
When unselected, the keypad is in numeric mode and keys generate the characters shown
on the key caps. When selected, the keypad is in application mode and keys generate con-
trol functions when pressed. The top row of four keys acts as the equivalent DEC function
keys PF1 through PF4.

When this option is selected the cursor keys generate application program codes when
pressed. Unselected, the keys generate normal cursor movement commands.
