9. Install the microprocessor:
a. If the socket has a protective plastic sheet over the pin holes, remove the plastic sheet.
b. Follow the precautions outlined in "Handling electrostatic discharge-sensitive devices" on
page vii.
c. Ensure that the microprocessor-locking lever (A) is fully extended in the 90-degree position.
d. Center the microprocessor (B) to be upgraded or replaced over the microprocessor socket.
e. Align the triangle on the corner of the microprocessor with the triangle on the corner of the
socket and carefully press the microprocessor into the socket.
Attention:
• Do not sue excessive force when pressing the microprocessor into the socket.
• Make sure that the microprocessor is oriented and aligned correctly in the socket before
you try to close the lever.
