Wiring Batteries in Series

Wiring the batteries in a series configuration increases the voltage of the battery
string. The total current capacity of the bank does not increase and it retains the
same amp-hour rating as a single battery. In other words, six 2-volt batteries or
two 6-volt batteries can be combined to create one 12-volt battery-bank.

series configuration.
