The inverter is not reverse
polarity protected.
Reversing the battery
polarity on the DC input
connections will cause
permanent damage to the
inverter which is not
covered under warranty.
Always check polarity
before making
connections to the
inverter.

• Determine the type of batteries to be used for the installation.
See Appendix B, pages B-1 and B-2, for additional information on battery
types and their applications.
• Determine the appropriate battery-bank size and battery configuration for the
installation.
See Appendix B, pages B-3 through B-7, for additional information on
calculating battery-bank size and how to wire the selected battery
configuration.
• Determine the correct size battery cables to use for installation.
See Table 3-2, page 34, for recommended battery cable sizing.
• Determine the correct size disconnect/fuse to use for installation.
See Table 3-3, page 35, for recommended disconnect/fuse sizing.
• Color code the cables with tape or heat shrink tubing. The standard colors are
red for positive (+) and black for negative (-).
