USING FLASH WITH SLOW SHUTTER SPEEDS
(SLOW SYNC FLASH)
Use this mode to take photographs at twilight or night
time or in dimly lit interiors. Ambient light and flash are
combined. (Ex. 15)
1. Press the flash button
moves to FILL-IN in the LCD panel and the night sym-
bol
is displayed.
2. The red LED glows when the flash is ready.
3. The red LED flashes quickly while the flash is charg-
ing.
4. The red LED flashes slowly to warn of camera shake.

Note:
• Set a slow shutter speed to record the background
when there is not enough ambient light. Steady the
camera on a firm support or use a tripod to avoid
camera shake.
Hint:
• In this mode, your foreground subject will be illumi-
nated by flash light, with the background recorded by
time exposure. This combination is useful if you want
to take a photograph of somebody standing in front of
an illuminated tourist attraction.
