REMOVING THE FOOTREST

Carefully read p. 50 (MAINTENANCE).
Remove the inspection cover, see page 64
(REMOVING INSPECTION COVER).
Unfasten and remove the two screws (1).
Unfasten and remove the three screws
(2) located under the footrest.
CAUTION
Take due care.
Do not damage the tongues and/or the
relative housings.
Lift the rear part of the footrest surface (3)
slightly and remove it from the base of the
inner guard.
CAUTION
Do not force the bottom guard, as it is
connected to the frame by two front
screws only.
IMPORTANT
When reassembling, insert
the two center tongues first, and then the side
ones.
To insert the three screws (2) first check vi-
sually to make sure the hole in the footrest
and the screw housing are properly aligned.

IDLING ADJUSTMENT

Carefully read p. 50 (MAINTENANCE).
To carry out this operation:
Drive for a few miles, until the engine
reaches a normal running temperature,
then stop the engine.
Connect an electronic rev counter to the
spark plug cable.
WARNING
Before proceeding, make sure that the
room you are working in has sufficient
ventilation.
Start the engine.
The engine's idling speed should be approxi-
mately 1500 100 rpm; in this case the rear
wheel will not be turned by the engine.
