REMOVING THE EXHAUST
SILENCER
Carefully read p. 50 (MAINTENANCE).
Place the vehicle on the center stand, on a
firm, level surface.
WARNING
Before performing the following steps, let
the engine and silencer cool down to
ambient temperature in order to avoid the
risk of burns.

Unfasten and remove the two screws (1)
fixing the silencer to the engine.
Screw (1) locking torque:
18.44 Ft lb (25 Nm).
Unfasten and remove screws (2).
Screw (2) locking torque:
8.85 Ft lb (12 Nm).
Remove the exhaust silencer (3).
IMPORTANT
When reassembling, re-
place the gasket between the exhaust mani-
fold and the silencer with a new one.

REMOVING
THE REAR BRAKE CALIPER
Carefully read p. 50 (MAINTENANCE).
A dirty disc soils the pads, with conse-
quent reduction of the braking efficiency.
Dirty pads must be replaced, while dirty
discs must be cleaned with a high-qual-
ity degreaser.
Riding with damaged rims is dangerous
for the rider, the vehicle and other people.
Check the conditions of the rim and have
it replaced if it is damaged.
Have the rim replaced by your Local
aprilia Dealer.
