USB Config port — Connect a USB cable (USB Type A to USB-C) between a computer and this female

USB-C port to configure and control the switcher via SIS commands or PCS, and to update the firmware.
NOTE: The USB-C Config port uses Ethernet over USB communication (see

Input Selection buttons and LEDs — Press one of these buttons to select an input (host) to switch to an

output (device). The green LED at the right of each button lights when the corresponding input has been
selected.
If Auto Switch is in effect, these input selection buttons are disabled, but the LEDs continue to light to indicate
the selected input. The input buttons are also used to initiate a system reset and to enable and disable front
panel lockout
Host LEDs — Each of these green LEDs lights when a host is connected to the corresponding input port,

whether or not the input is selected.
Device Status LEDs — Each of these green LEDs lights when a peripheral device is connected to the
F
corresponding output port and has been enabled by the selected host.

Powering on the System

To power on the SW USB Pro and connected devices:
1. Connect all input and output devices to the rear panel connectors on the switcher (see
starting on page 5 for more information).
2. If desired, connect a host PC to the RS-232 port (see
the front panel USB-C Config port.
3. Plug the power supply into the 2-pole captive screw power connector on the rear panel (see
figure
5,
A
host LEDs each blink once in succession from left to right. If the self-test completes with no errors, the LED
for the most recently selected input remains lit.
4. Select each input and power up the host device connected to it (see
page).

Selecting an Input (Host)

SW USB Pro inputs (hosts) can be selected by using:
The front panel buttons
SIS commands
Keyboard (hot key switching)
Auto-switching

Selecting a Host from the Front Panel

To manually select a host from the front panel, press the desired input button. The LED adjacent to the button
lights. After a host is selected, its LED remains lit until a new input is selected or the SW USB Pro is powered off.

Selecting a Host Using SIS Commands

You can also select a host (input) via an RS-232, Ethernet, or Ethernet over USB connection using SIS
commands (see
explanations).
