6. After the action is completed, the NMS manager can get the appropriate
object values in the table entry with the results.
7. After obtaining the results, the NMS manager will Set the object
nms xxx EntryStatus to the value of invalid(4). This will release the table entry
for use by other NMS managers.
The nmsTest group allows an NMS manager to request a test be performed on a
device or device pair. To set up the test table, parameters must be entered based
on object nmsTestEntries (
to create the test table. The following parameters are required to define the test
request.
nmsTestDeviceName is the valid name of the device configured for
6700 NMS.
nmsTestType is Set to a value indicating the type of test to be performed.
Test type must be valid for the model of the device as specified in
nmsTestDeviceName.
The remainder of the parameters are applicable only to some of the tests and
models.
nmsTestDuration Sets the length of the test.
nmsTestPortNumber indicates the port on which the test is to be performed
on multiport devices.
nmsTestRemoteName must be Set to the name of a connected valid remote
device for those tests that require a device pair.
After a test is completed, the results are contained in a set of value pairs. The
first value is validity and indicates if the following value has any meaning for the
test completed. The second value of a pair indicates the actual result, if valid.
For details on the tests and results for a particular device model, refer to the
device operation manual.
