4.0 OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
The Port LF is ready for use once power is connected. It is simple to operate, requiring only a deck box
and a dunking transducer to communicate with it. Instructions for opening the Port LF, connecting power,
closing it, and sealing it are below. Deck Box manuals are located on the
4.1 Turning the PORT LF on by Connecting the Power
The battery pack comes delivered disconnected from the internal electronics unless otherwise specified
by the customer. For first use, the housing must be opened so the battery pack cable can be plugged into
the JP3 header connector on the electronic board to provide power. The unit must then be closed and
the housing purged.
WARNING!
pressurization is possible. Exercise extreme caution when opening the
instrument!
4.1.1 Removing the Purge Port Plug
The Purge Port Plug keeps the unit sealed. If it is not removed first, the unit will not open.
1. Remove the anti-rotation block (black Delrin block that keeps the release link from turning) from
the release end of the instrument by unscrewing the two nylon screws that hold it in place, as
shown in
